Join Claire Noland, author of several books & upcoming books with small presses, and Maria Dismondy, the founder, publisher and CEO of Cardinal Rule Press as they discuss the ins and outs of working with small publishers. Claire will give tips on publishers you might not have heard of, and Maria will share insights on what Cardinal Rule Press is looking for in their upcoming submission window.



Claire Annette Noland writes picture books, early readers, work-for-hire, and magazine articles from her book-filled home in Central California. Her career has centered around children and books as a children’s librarian, reading specialist, kindergarten teacher, and mom. She has traveled extensively as a children’s advocate and is currently developing a children’s library in Nicaragua. Claire loves to write and share books that encourage children to be good friends to others.

Maria Dismondy is an author, publisher, and speaker. She started out in the classroom years ago before writing ten books. She loved getting powerful messages into the world through realistic fiction so much so that she began Cardinal Rule Press in 2015. A million copies sold and counting, these books, loved worldwide, continue to share timeless messages with modern diversity.
